Jan-Daksha Trust traveled to the Bhilurana Slums to organize a career counseling camp with 23 of the area’s unemployed girls and women. The camp sought to inform the women about new employment opportunities afforded by Jan-Daksha’s vocational trainings. Alongside this information, the camp notified attendees who had dropped out of school about continuing their education at Open University. As a result, 8 of the young women registered for beautician training, 4 opted to enroll at university, and 8 more opted for direct job placement.
14 male labourers participated in a legal workshop jointly organized by Jan-Daksha Trust and Lakhawali Labours. During the event, speakers notified the labourers of solutions to common problems experienced during migration. They also discussed the importance of legal awareness, mobile phones, and maintaining a labour attendance diary. Additionally, speakers provided those in attendance with tips on how to prepare for migration into the city.
